Remainder Marks

Remainder marks are lines (usually black ink) that have been drawn on the page edges when looking at a book from the side, top or bottom. This indicates a printing overrun at the publisher and these books are sold quite cheaply. While this mark impacts the value of the book, they are still acceptable to some collectors until a "cleaner" version is located.
